ABOUT POTRIES: ============== Potries is a small and welcoming town located in the heart of the La Safor region, halfway between the exceptional beaches of the coast and the mountainous belt that flanks it to the southwest, where the limestone massif of La Safor stands out with its 1,013 m. above sea level. The municipal area has an area of 3.2 km. Suitable for different crops that have been developed throughout history, except for a few small mountains, which barely exceed 100 m in height, called Els Tossalets, at the foot of which the municipality is located. The Serpis River runs along the western border of the municipality, constituting the most significant geographical feature and a natural space of singular beauty. In fact, the Serpis River and its surroundings were declared a Protected Landscape of the Valencian Community “for its landscape, ecological and cultural values, derived from a harmonious historical relationship between man and the natural environment” (Decree 39/2007).
The climate is characterised by relatively mild winters and hot summers, with average temperatures throughout the year ranging between 13 and 25 degrees. Rain falls mainly in autumn and also in spring. Potries currently has a population of just over 1,000 inhabitants.
How to get there
Perfectly connected by road: with the inland regions via the CV-60 towards Albaida; with the main routes of the Mediterranean axis (AP-7, E-15, N-332) along the CV-680, which allow us to be in any of the main cities in the territory in a few minutes. The train arrives at the Renfe intermodal station in Gandia, from which you can take a bus to go to Potries. You can also get there by bicycle following the CV-680 or looking for alternative routes along rural roads. The Vía Verde del Serpis, which takes advantage of the route of the old Alcoi-Gandia railway, is in the works and will be the best option. August 6: San Salvador. Last week of August: Major Festivals.
